Where to use

Floors:

  • High Compressive Strength: Foamglas S3 Board is capable of withstanding heavy loads, making it suitable for floors that experience significant foot traffic and the weight of furnishings without deforming.
  • Thermal Insulation: It provides excellent thermal insulation, helping to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and improving energy efficiency by reducing heat loss through the floor.
  • Moisture Resistance: The closed-cell structure of Foamglas S3 Board makes it impervious to water and vapour, protecting floors from dampness and potential water damage.
  • Dimensional Stability: Foamglas S3 Board maintains its shape and performance over time, ensuring long-term reliability and effectiveness as a flooring insulation material.

Foundation Slabs:

  • Water and Vapour Resistance: Foamglas S3 Board's resistance to water absorption and vapour permeability ensures that the insulation remains dry and effective, even when in contact with the ground. This helps to protect the foundation from moisture-related issues.
  • Thermal Performance: It provides consistent thermal insulation, reducing the risk of thermal bridging and contributing to the overall energy efficiency of the building. This is particularly important in preventing heat loss through the foundation.
  • Prevention of Frost Heave: In colder climates, Foamglas S3 Board helps prevent frost heave by maintaining a stable temperature around the foundation, thereby reducing the risk of structural damage caused by ground freezing and thawing cycles.
  • Structural Support: The board’s high compressive strength supports the weight of the building, ensuring a stable base without compression or degradation over time.

In summary, Foamglas S3 Board is an effective and reliable choice for floors and foundation slabs due to its excellent thermal insulation properties, high compressive strength, resistance to moisture, and long-term stability.
