Installation Guidance

•Ensure pipe surfaces are clean and dry before application; wipe with a damp cloth and allow to dry fully.

• Cut tape sections to suitable lengths (80 cm to 1 m) for ease of handling.
• Apply at temperatures above 10ºC for optimal adhesion, allowing material to reach temperature in colder conditions.
• Overlap tape sections by at least 3 cm and press firmly to ensure continuous bonding.
• Use electrician’s flanges approximately every 50 cm aligned with overlaps to secure tape long-term.
• Reinforce elbows and junctions with FONODAN 130 adhesive band as per guidelines.
• Line siphon and hanging drainage pipes with FONODAN 70 strips for further sound reduction.
• Secure downpipes to structures using steel flanges with neoprene inserts to prevent vibration transmission.
  

How is Danosa Fonodan BJ installed?

The tape is self-adhesive and is wrapped around the waste pipes in a spiral or overlapped fashion to ensure effective soundproofing. It should be applied to clean and dry surfaces for optimal adhesion.

Does it provide thermal insulation as well?

While its primary function is acoustic insulation, it may offer minor thermal benefits. However, for dedicated thermal insulation, additional solutions should be considered.
